The worst day I
had ever faced had just gotten over. It was time for the worst night.
There’s only so
much someone can take, but there’s only so much a person should!
Not knowing the
boundaries that existed between ‘deserving’ and ‘taken already’ I was still
going ahead. Maybe Lia was worth it.
Sleep eluded me,
and the day had knocked me down. There seemed no way to vent out all the toxic
accumulated within. I could not carry on. I wanted to give up. On Lia, on love,
I wanted to give up.
Shyla wasn’t just
a great dancer. Never earlier, and never since could I manage to find a
shoulder so comforting, to cry on.
“Suraj, listen it
is okay. You can cry all you want.” She said
“I am here. I will
always be. Whenever you need me, I will be here for you. Just don’t worry about
a single thing.”
“But shy, I love
her. And I don’t deserve this. I deserve her.” I said, sobbing inconsolably.
Realizing that it
wasn’t about just unrequited love anymore, but rather about an addiction, that
had now made me rather compulsive, she said,
“Okay Suraj. Let’s
do this. Now you calm down and go to sleep. Tomorrow by the time you wake up,
let it be a fresh start. Analyze where you are going with this, but with an
unbiased mind.
If you think she
still does love you, go get her. If you have common sense, give up.”
It was obvious
that I was going to start afresh and with new ideas to get Lia back in my life,
but that was tomorrow.
Today, I was
finally calm.
